marla tellez is in the newsroom with more for us. a lot of people rooting this one on. >> reporter: yeah, he has my vote, no doubt about that. good morning, laura. the future is looking good for mr. buster posey. by all accounts as you mensed number 28 is the heavy favorite heading into today's mvp announcement. and to think this was his comeback year after recovering from that brutal hit at home plate in the 2011 season. there it was. posey coming back strong. he ended up leading the nl in on-base percentage hitting 24 home runs and driving in 103 runs. these stats helped him win the league batting title and his second world series ring. the 25-year-old has only completed two full seasons with the giants and each time they have won the world series. now, if posey wins, he will match a feat accomplished by giants great willie mays in 1954, that's earning a batle batting title, world series and mvp title all in a single year. we should also mention posey is one of five finalists and his closest competitors are cardinals catcher yadier

rain on the way for us, right? >> yeah, rain on the way. i'm concerned for people who are trying to get out of town today, although we're not expecting heavy rain until later on tonight. we are expecting flight delays, especially out of sfo with low ceilings in the forecast as early as this morning, and winds are picking up as well and will continue to as we head throughout the day today so keep that in mind. grab your jacket, grab that umbrella. the system for the most part stays to our north as high pressure is still in control. you can see the showers breaking apart before they hit the golden gate bridge. that will continue to be the trend throughout the day but that ridge will break down as we head throughout the second half of the day. starting to get our first showers here south of the golden gate bridge starting at about noon. we'll see the heaviest activity between 5:00 p.m. tonight and 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning. we're talking about the potential for a quarter of an inch to three-quarters of an inch. the north bay will get the most
